For some reason, the Dutch government has decided that it should outperform Fox News in creating a sense of fear in its citizens. For this reason, they created the site Nederland tegen terrorisme. On that site, the governments warns about all the bad things that could happen, and the things that you should do when you are a victim or a witness. While this is a commendable initiative, most of the information offered on the site does not surpass that of elementary school.
David Rietveld created another site which targets a much more important question: What to do against bad weather?. The site is extremely well-made and excellently mocks the terrorism site of the Dutch government.
For reasons not yet completely known to me, the server that hosts this site booted to single-user mode yesterday evening around 22:21 (CET). Until I rebooted the machine this morning at around 07:15, this site was unavailable.
I believe that the downtime was caused by a faulty disk, which (if that turns out to be the cause) will have to be replaced.

While trying to gather my thoughts about the question what I want to be when I grow up, I found the following profile for an Information Security Specialist.
Responsible for developing and managing Information Systems security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development. Manages IT security analysts to ensure that all applications are functional and secure. Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 6-8 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.
This pretty much sums it up. Not only that, I think that I am very qualified to fill such a position.
