PCProxy Frequently Asked Questions

  • Question 1: "Can I use anything else than ProController for a primary client?"

Answer: Probably, but this has not been tested, nor will it be supported.

  • Question 2: "If I log in with ProController as primary client, and then start up MS Flight Simulator as secondary client, the CSL doesn't show the other multiplayer aircraft correctly"

Answer: Correct. CSL is taken care of by MS Flight Simulator clients among themselves. CSL shapes are not part of the communication between SquawkBox and the servers. As such, no support for CSL is implemented, nor planned.

  • Question 3: "I have not succeeded in using the programme yet, as I have ASRC 1.1 and FS2004, and want to connect to VATSIM, to use it. So I opened ASRC and wanted to change the IP address to local (127.0.0.1) but it only gives a list of server names, so I went to the ARSC.INI file hoping to be able to add the local address in there, but no such luck :( Would you happen to know how to do this?"

Answer: Steve Harding knew this one. On Wed, March 3, 2004 23:09, he
    wrote to me:

Just in case anyone else asks, the way to connect ASRC
to PCProxy is to export the IP addresses from Servinfo,
and put the file into the ASRC directory. Then edit the
exported file and add the line: 127.0.0.1 PCProxy.

When you go to log on to VATSIM with ASRC in the
connectio settings you choose the PCProxy setting,
that will allow you to connect to VATSIM via PCProxy.

As for connecting FS2004, I have had no luck as
SQKBox won't allow me to connect :(

    I hope the above helps.
