Safety and security are two closely related concepts. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary:

Safety) 1 : safety regards to the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or loss

Security)1: the quality or state of being secure: as a: freedom from danger

When I came into work today, I did notice some red/white safety tape by the entrance that I normally use. It did not trigger anything, because we have quite some new construction going on at campus, and there are work crews everywhere. Especially with the students away from campus, I expect larger projects to be done now, so the impact on teaching is minimal.
Much to my surprise, when I went out to get some air, I noticed this sign:

In information security, we worry about keeping things out. I guess when it comes to safety, it is all about keeping us in :-)
